One amazing part of being an FIT student is getting access to Fashion Forecasting websites (that normally cost about $10,000 per year) and being able to read trends WAY ahead of the runways. (Seriously, right now they're doing trend stories for Fall 2018!). But since that's a little far away, I researched Spring 2017 trends across five different forecasters, and here are three Trend Stories for the Spring that you wont want to miss!

Havana

With Cuba opening up its colorful doors to the world, it's becoming a major source of inspiration, and it's tropical, colorful, and spanish style will be a major influence in the coming seasons. For Spring, we go deep into Old Havana, and explore the antique tiles, intricate embroidery, and flowy, gauzey, fabrics.

Maxi skirts, midriff tops, billowy sleeves, bright colors, off the shoulder & deep-V necklines, and heavy embroidery

Gypsy

For the next trend theme, we jump to the opposite end of the pond to Spain, Morroco, and Italy. Styles are eclectic, exotic, European, with the dominate colors being browns, reds, mustard, cream, and soft pastel hues. The Gypsy woman is a spirited nomad that lets her travels influence her style, and since she's always on the move, she needs comfortable and breathable styles that layer well.

Victoriana

Inspired by English gardens, literature, and ethereal romance, The Victoriana theme is based on soft ivory, cream and pastel colors and eyelet, lace, and satin fabrics. The Victoriana woman appreciates old world romance and beauty, while using her femininity to push forward in the modern world.
