The Skincare Edit

Good morning, Lovelies! Today I thought I would give a little skincare update since its been almost a year since my last one! Most products have changed, but a few tried-and-true favorites remain in my arsenal. A little glimpse into my skin type: I can be dry, normal, or oily depending on the day or time of year, but I always moisturize fairly heavily and use tons of sunscreen. (#PaleGirlProbz)

First Step: Cleansing

I occasionally use Neutrogena's eye-makeup remover if I'm wearing something waterproof, but usually it's straight to the Simple Micellar Water either in regular water form with a cotton pad, or their Micellar Cleansing Wipes. Nothing gets makeup off like these bad boys, and they're still gentle enough for sensitive skin

Second Step: Moisturizing

In the morning, I stick with just a good size dollop of Aveeno's Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer, which I've been using for about 6 years now, but if I need a little extra dose of moisture at night, Kopari's coconut oil is so rich and lovely, but light enough for a facial oil

Mask Time:

Depending on what my skin needs, I have a variety of facial masks that I generally use once or twice a week.

Dull & Tired:

For times when I may have stayed up four nights in a row studying, this Coffee Mask from Lush is a lifesaver! It lightly scrubs away dead skin and impurities while the caffeine from the coffee wakes your skin up and your'e ready to take on the day!

Tons of Acne:

For those times when you can't seem to shake that hoard of blackheads, or those red little zits just keep on popping up, Origins Charcoal Mask sucks all of that gunk out of your skin and leaves you fresh and clean. (Note: put this on after a hot shower or facial steam, so that your pores are wide open and the mask can really get in there)

Dull and Colorless:

Finally, when my skin just needs a little pick-me-up, I mix a little bit of rolled oats, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a tiny bit of water if needed, to make a DIY mask that both calms and brightens the skin!
