Everyday Makeup Routine

Good Morning, Lovelies! Today I thought I would share a peek (or every nitty detail) about my makeup routine! Obviously I don't use all of these products every single day, and I treasure no-makeup days, but these are my tried-and-true favorites for every step in the makeup process!

Primer

I always start my makeup with a primer. It just smoothes out your face and sets an even canvas for any makeup on top. Lately, I've been using Benefit's Porefessional to create a perfect, even texture that's neither matte nor dewy. It's the perfect versatile primer that can work for everyone!

Foundation

I tested out about 5 samples of high-end foundations before finally deciding on the CHANEL Les Beiges foundation (I wear the shade 12 Rose). It's a beautiful medium coverage, with a very natural satin finish, and tons of healthy-skin ingredients. I use two pumps on the back of my hand, and then blend it in with a Real Techniques buffing brush. It blurs imperfections but still looks so natural on the skin!

Concealer

Another catagory that's always difficult for pale girls, I usually stick to Glossier's stretch concealer for under-eyes because it has just the right amount of yellow to counteract dark circles, while blending like an absolute dream!

Blush

Blush is a tricky one, I usually go for my tried-and-true Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in the shade Captivated, but lately I've been swaying towards more cream blushes like Clinique's Chubby Stick

Bronzer

For days when I want a quick, light bronze, you can't beat the loose mineral bronzer from Bare Minerals using a light powder brush from real techniques, but for a more stark contrast, I pull out my trusted Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit and usually go with the middle contour shade, which is a bit more cool toned.

Highlight

Ah highlighter, my favorite! For an all-over glow, I love mixing in a bit of the L'Oreal Lumi liquid Illuminator in the shade glacé into my foundation for a sublte dewy glow, and then in addition, I swipe a gereous amount of the Glossier Haloscope highlight stick in Rose Quartz along my cheekbone, chin, and forehead. Haloscope gives the brightest and most dewy effect of any highlighter I've tried, and lasts ALL DAY! (I could compose a love song for this thing)

Brows

I've always loved bold brows, and for me, I swear by my magic duo: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe, and Benefit Gimme Brow in Light. I fill in sparse areas with the incredibly easy to use Brow Wiz, brush my brows with the spoolie-brush on the end, and then swipe Gimme Brow through, to set them in place and give them gorgeous definition!

Eyeshadow & Liner

Eyeshaow usually changes by the day (and the amount of effort I'm willing to put in) but lately I've been going for a simple smudge of Charlotte Tilbury's cream shadow in Jean across my entire lid, with a little waterproof brown liner. This is the first cream eyeshadow I've ever had that stays put all day without creasing and looks GORGEOUS. I'm dying to get my hands on the shade Marie Anionette as well for a contour and/or darker lid shade!

Mascara

Mascara is the one product that I think most drugstore and high-end come in almost equal. My holy-grail has always been L'Oreal's waterproof Million Lashes mascara. It lenghtens and separates (not much volume though), and holds ALL DAY. For a little more high-end, I love the Black Magic Mascara by Eyeko, it has a lot more volume and is much easier to get off at night!

Lipstick

Again, varies completely day-to-day but the nude shades I've been reaching for most are NYX soft matte lip cream in Cannes, and Charlotte Tilbury matte revolution in Very Victoria. Both last incredibly long, and look gorgeous! For days when I want a pop of color, I've been grabbing Clinique's color pop in Punch Pop, and Kat Von D's studded kiss in A-Go-Go!

xoxo,

Audra
