Beauty Haul

Morning, Lovelies! I've done quite a bit of shopping lately and I thought I would give y'all a haul post today on the beauty items that have found their way into my collection lately! I'll report back most likely in my August Favorites on which ones we're outstanding, and I'm excited to try the majority of these while on vacation this week in Cancun, Mexico (don't worry, there will be one vlog at least, maybe two!) Tell me below any of these that you've tried, and your thoughts! Or If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them!

Yellow & Navy

Good morning, Lovelies! Today I thought I would break out my favorite color combo, yellow and navy! I nabbed these gorgeous J.Crew earrings a few weeks ago when someone else returned them (just my luck!) and I love how they add a fun pop of color to any outfit! This Zara dress is a bit shorter than I usually wear, but the collared top balances it out a bit, and looks so cute paired with these J.Crew Factory Addie loafers! Once again, I'm wearing the soft matte lip cream from NYX in the shade Cannes (LOVE this shade!)

Chilly

we've had a bit of a cold front in the city, and I was able to give this fur vest one last outing before spring/summer! I stuck to classic New York black, but added a little spring flair with this gorgeous orange lipstick by Kat Von D! I highly recommend these, they are amazing!

The Blues

Today I decided to pair these (amazing) J.Crew Ryder pants with a classic chambray button down, J.Crew Factory Cora tassel loafers, a Kendra Scott Rayne necklace, and Sophie Harper pave ring (both of which came in my Rocksbox! You can get a month free with my code! Read the post HERE!) But what I was MOST excited for, was to take my new Loeffler Randall Saffiano Rider bag out for it's first spin! I happened upon it while scouring a Rent The Runway sample sale, and I couldn't leave without it! It was between that and a Kate Spade dress. Believe me, the decision was almost impossible.

Southern New Yorker Turns 1!

One year ago today, my very first post was published on Southern New Yorker, and the journey began. From figuring out what to write, how to manage social media, and learning what a widget even was, I have loved turning my passion for fashion and beauty into something that I could truly be proud of, and I want to thank all of you for supporting me this past year!

On this blog-aversary I wanted to take a look back at some of my favorite, most popular, and maybe not-so-good-but-funny posts, as well as share some of my favorite blogs that have inspired me!

One of my favorite things to do during a stressful school week, is to take an hour or two, step away from the mountains of essays and projects, and take time to relax. During that time, I like to take off my makeup, put on a mask, and either read a book or paint my nails (Essie's Leggy Legend and Geranium are my current favorites).

Recently, I've been loving the Origins Clear Improvements Charcoal Mask. It has charcoal which draws out deep impurities, white china clay to absorbs environmental toxins, and lecithin which dissolves all the impurities.

I use this about once a week, after I've cleansed my face, and before I moisturize. It definitely has helped to clean out the New York City "gunk" from the air, and keep my acne under control! Plus, it's a great way to de-stress!

Book Club: Cass, Bronte, and Conrad

I have always been a bit of a bookworm, and I love tons of different types of books. Today I thought I would share a few titles that I have been particularly loving lately!

If you're a The Bachelor/Bachlorette fan, you will freak over this future-meets-fairytale novel! Dangerous love-triangles, conflicting feelings, and dystopian influences made this novel a huge hit in my view. I just finished Book 3: The One, and I can't wait to start Book 4! Kiera Cass has quickly become one of my favorite authors! (Also, can we take a moment to mention the covers? They're STUNNING. I have them all on my Kindle, but I almost wish I had them all hardcopy just for that!)

I absolutely adored these two reads by Lauren Conrad! Her effortless yet chic style has definitely become one of my inspirations. I swear I've read them both cover-to-cover 3 times!
